A barn that needs no styling.
Stara Podkowa doesn't pretend to be a barn – it is one. A century-old brick barn in Wierzchosławice near Bolków that still smells of wood and summer. No marble, no gold chairs. There is brick someone shaped by hand in 1905, beams hay dried under for a hundred years, and a gate the setting sun pours through in the evening.
Beams from 1905, walls a metre thick.
A 250 m² hall, high vaulting and the original roof structure. Metre-thick brick walls keep it cool in July heat, and large fans work over the dance floor. The wooden gate opens the floor straight onto the meadow and the sunsets. Solid-wood tables and chairs, tabletops 100 cm wide, the hall laid out for your guest list. 60–120 people at long tables. A large stage with three-phase power fits a band with a full sound system or a DJ with lights. The hall and its toilets are accessible for wheelchair users.
A hectare of meadow just for you.
A hectare of event meadow to use however you like: a ceremony under the arch, hammocks, deckchairs on hay bales, lawn games, chill-out zones, an outdoor dance floor and a bonfire spot. Guests’ campervans and tents are welcome. Horses, hens and ducks on the farm and a view of the Młynarka and Truskolas hills. When it rains, the ceremony moves under the covered passage from the courtyard to the meadow, and the barn with its open gate still feels like a wedding in nature.
A kitchen caterers love.
65 m² of back-of-house with a cold room, a high-end convection oven, a separate dish room, bain-maries, urns and a professional coffee machine. Lubiana porcelain, glassware and cutlery for 120 included. Your caterer arrives with food, not a truck of equipment – and there's no menu monopoly. We recommend: Catering Pani Ani, Kocharz, Kuchnia Luz’n’Bluez.
37 beds on site.
25 beds in guest rooms and 12 in two heated glamping tents. Beds with linen, towels, three bathrooms with hairdryers for guests and a private one for you, a guest kitchen for Sunday breakfast. 80 PLN per person per night, Friday night too. For you: a suite included, over 50 m² in the historic hayloft, with a private bathroom – a great backdrop for getting-ready photos. If that's not enough: Agroturystyka Na Skraju (12 beds, 3 km), Agroturystyka Stara Plebania (18 beds, 6 km), Gościniec Stara Mleczarnia (45 beds, 7 km) – and we drive your guests there at night.
Who sleeps where – you decide.
The accommodation is for your guests only – nobody else stays on the estate during your weekend. You manage it yourselves in the Wedding Assistant app: drag and drop guests into rooms and tents, and change the number and set-up of beds up to 7 days before the wedding without telling us.
At the entrance to the house there's a handy display with the room plan – who sleeps where is visible at a glance. No more explaining to Auntie Ela where to go.

Decorate the barn yourselves, with family.
Our decoration storeroom is included: tulle, tablecloths and runners in green and beige, candlesticks, battery lights, vases large and small, placemats, welcome boards, photo hangers, a dozen or so umbrellas for a rainy day and many other accessories we've collected over two seasons. In the 2026 season some couples decorated practically their whole wedding with our decorations alone.
Friday is there so that you, your family and witnesses can decorate the hall yourselves, gather wildflowers from the meadow and create a homely feel you can't order from a catalogue. We'll suggest what looks best where – we've done it a dozen times.
Our story in five acts.
- 1905
The barn is built in Wierzchosławice by local carpenters from solid timber and hand-formed brick. The owner is an Austrian official who supplies game to Książ Castle.
- 1916
The farm is bought by the village head. An inn on Truskolas hill draws hunters from the area.
- 2022
We buy the farm. Restoration keeps the original beams, floor and gate and adds modern installations.
- 2026
16 weddings in the season. Heated glamping tents arrive. Season 2027 sells out.
- 2028
Your part of the story. 17 dates, June to September.
The place for your story is ready. When will you write it?
