A barn for an outdoor wedding · Lower Silesia, an hour from Wrocław
One weekend,
one story.
A real barn from 1905, a meadow with a view of the hills and two hosts who, for the whole weekend, have nobody on their minds but you. Friday from the morning, Saturday with no time limit, Sunday until 8 pm – and no hidden costs.
Season 2027: sold out · Season 2028: 17 dates available
One weekend. One couple. All our attention.
In the 2028 season we'll host 17 weddings. Not because we can't do more – because we don't want to. Each one means the whole weekend on site for us: from Friday morning, when we hand you the keys, to Sunday evening, when the last guests head home.
A wedding on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The next couple waits at the door.
One couple for the whole weekend. The barn, the meadow and the rooms are yours alone – from Friday to Sunday 8 pm.
Decorating in a rush, because the previous wedding leaves an hour before you.
You arrive Friday morning. You decorate in daylight, over coffee, without watching the clock.
“Hall until 4 am, check-out by 10, please take your decorations today.”
No time limit on Saturday, the Sunday party included, the clean-up can wait until the end of Monday and leftover food until Tuesday.
A coordinator handling three events at once.
Iza and Tomek – the owners, who know you by name and are on site the whole weekend.
Price “on request”, the contract shown only at signing.
The price, the terms and a sample contract are on the website – before you even write to us. We're one of the few venues like that.
That's why we call Stara Podkowa a place that's exclusively yours. It's not about the price or gold chairs. It's about being, for three days, the only people all of this works for.
We don't leave you on your own.
Hi, we're Iza and Tomek. We answer your messages, show you around the barn and are on site from Friday to Sunday. We know every catering team that has cooked here, we know how best to set up a DJ in the barn and what time the sun sets over Poręba in July.
On the wedding day we show suppliers the back-of-house, keep an eye on the schedule, swap the gas cylinder before anyone notices it's running out and solve surprises before you've thought of them. We host only a handful of weddings a year precisely so we can truly be there at each one. You have one job: to celebrate.
No more waiting to hear back from a venue. Your questions always get a thorough answer – usually within the hour.
„(…) what won me over most were the Owners – wonderful, incredibly warm and helpful people. Their kindness, good humour and flexibility give the place an unbelievably homely, warm atmosphere. If you're looking for a venue where you'll not only be charmed by the interior but also surrounded by the care of wonderful, honest and helpful people – Stara Podkowa is a bullseye.”
A couple · wedding, July 2026 (translated from Polish)
Open air and a roof overhead. No need to choose.
Many couples dream of an outdoor wedding and then spend six months checking the forecast. Here you get both: a ceremony on the meadow with a view of the hills, and a spacious brick barn whose gate opens onto that same meadow. Even in a downpour you sit at the table looking out at the green and the hills, hear the rain on the roof and feel like you’re at a wedding in nature – just without the soaked shirt.
-
A hall open to the meadow
250 m² under beams from 1905, with a wooden gate that opens the dance floor straight onto the meadow. When the sun shines, the party spills out onto the outdoor floor and around the bonfire. When it rains, the gate stays open enough for the meadow and hills to remain part of the room.
-
A ceremony under a roof, facing the hills
Plan B is ready and free of charge: 80–100 people fit comfortably under the covered passage from the courtyard to the meadow, with 40 outdoor chairs for those who’d rather sit. You stand facing the hills, and guests walk over from the barn under a dozen or so umbrellas from our decoration store. If the weather turns, we move the arch and chairs – no extra cost, no stress.
-
A hectare of meadow at your disposal
A ceremony under the arch, hammocks, games, a bonfire, a chill-out tent, the LOVE sign, sunset photos – set the meadow up however you like. There’s no second hall or someone else’s wedding behind the fence.
-
Campervans and your own tents welcome
Some friends want to sleep under the stars? Come along – campervans and tents go on the meadow. It’s the easiest way for everyone to stay the whole weekend, even once the 37 beds in the rooms and glamping are taken. Tents are free, and hooking a campervan up to electricity costs 50 PLN.
Five things every couple worries about. Here, they're taken care of.
-
I.The venue
„Will it have atmosphere, or end up a wedding factory?”
The 1905 barn has a character that needs no decorating: original beams, metre-thick brick walls, a gate open onto the meadow and the sunset over the hills. We host only a handful of weddings a year, so nobody hurries you and nobody is waiting at the door. Guests tell us afterwards they've never been to such a relaxed wedding – a compliment we work all weekend for. And you can decorate yourselves: our storeroom of tulle, tablecloths, candlesticks and lights is included, and some couples have dressed their whole wedding from it.

II.Accommodation
„Where will a hundred people sleep?”
25 beds in guest rooms and 12 in two heated glamping tents, all on site, with linen and towels. Three bathrooms with hairdryers for guests and a private one for you. For you, a suite included: over 50 m² in the historic hayloft, with a private bathroom – and the best backdrop for getting-ready photos we have. If 37 beds aren't enough: Agroturystyka Na Skraju (12 beds, 3 km), Stara Plebania (18, 6 km) and Gościniec Stara Mleczarnia (45, 7 km), and our driver shuttles guests at night so nobody hunts for a taxi at 3 am.

III.Food
„Who will cook, and will it be good?”
We recommend three teams who know our kitchen inside out: Catering Pani Ani, Kocharz and Kuchnia Luz’n’Bluez. Want your own? Welcome – 65 m² of back-of-house with a cold room, a high-end convection oven, a dish room and bain-maries, plus Lubiana porcelain, glassware and cutlery for 120, are waiting. Your caterer arrives with food, not a truck of equipment, and you don't pay for a tableware rental.

IV.The party
„Who will run the party and make sure everything works?”
We have trusted DJs who've played under our beams and know how the barn sounds, where to stand and how to get the floor going at 92 dB so that even the “non-dancers” dance. And our experience helps us look after your guests and make sure everything has its moment and place: the cake, the first dance, the bonfire, the thank-yous. We prompt and sort things out as we go – couples have already called us the “spare witnesses”.

V.Extras
„What else, to make it special?”
Many extras are right here on site – easy, with no hunting for or coordinating outside suppliers: an illuminated LOVE sign, a projector and screen, a chill-out tent, a second bonfire with the wood laid out, a large sound system and a hot tub under the stars (new for 2028). Each has its price in the price list, you order it with the contract or later in the Assistant (at least 7 days before the wedding), and setting up and packing away is on us. For kids, entertainers and tents from Legacy Events, no travel fee. And if our horses feel like it, we’ll invite them into your photos – that one is free, though with no guarantee, because they’re horses.

Your whole wedding in one place.
Arrangements with us, the weekend plan, guest accommodation, the guest list with tables, and over the weekend a gallery and chat for your guests with no app at all. Most venues don't have this and other couples pay for it separately – here every couple gets it included. Couples tell us it makes contact with us and with their suppliers so much easier. And so nothing gets lost, the Assistant reminds you in good time what we need from you and by when – no last-minute phone calls.
Slow wedding: celebrate without watching the clock.
- I. Friday · from the morning
You take over the barn.
We hand you the keys and show you everything: the barn, the kitchen, the rooms, where the power is on the meadow and how the gate opens. You decorate in daylight over coffee while the caterer moves into the kitchen. In the evening we light a bonfire for guests who arrived early – hammocks, blankets, the conversations you'd never fit into the wedding day. A slow wedding starts with the pre-wedding.
- II. Saturday · no time limit
Ceremony, feast, dancing under the stars.
A ceremony in the orchard, on the meadow or against the wooden gate, with the Młynarka and Truskolas hills behind you. Rain? The ceremony moves under the covered passage from the courtyard to the meadow – 80–100 people fit comfortably under the roof, and you still have the mountain view. Then dinner at solid-wood tables, dancing on the outdoor floor and, if you like, a second bonfire under the stars (200 PLN). No curfew in the barn, and one of us is on site all night.
- III. Sunday · until 8 pm
Sunday party included. Nobody watches the clock.
Sunday party included, no kitchen surcharge and no clock. Breakfast on the grass, hammocks, kids on the meadow – and if you fancy it, the hot tub (new for 2028) and a second bonfire from the extras list. With the Worry-Free package you hand over the keys at 8 pm and go home to rest. Without it you clean up calmly by the end of Monday, and you can collect leftover food and drinks until 8 pm on Tuesday.
“We've never been to such a relaxed wedding.”
That's what guests tell us most often. Family warmth and holiday ease – that's our definition of a real slow wedding.

The Weekend Slow package – the whole weekend for one price.
The name is no accident: you pay once for a whole weekend at a slow pace, from Friday morning to Sunday 8 pm. The price on our website is the price on your invoice. You'll find it on the pricing page together with the full list of what it includes, every extra with its price and a sample contract. A free 7-day hold on your date.
Check for yourselves: most barns and venues in the area make you write for a quote and show the contract only at signing. We publish the price, the full list of what it includes, every extra with its cost and a sample contract to download. Not because it's the done thing – because we have nothing to hide, and you deserve to plan without guessing.
